We’ll tease the activation on OrangeNow, an app specifically for Syracuse students. We’ll post something intriguing like, "Something's coming to the library finals week. Stay tuned 👀🤖" and let the students run with it.
We’ll also spread QR codes around campus that will link people directly to the app. We’ll also work with the university to send out tease content to parents and family.

NYL Lunar New Year R1
The New York Lottery is a state-operated lottery system established in 1967 that functions as part of the New York State Gaming Commission to generate revenue for public education.
Setup
INSIGHT
The Lunar New Year is traditionally celebrated with fireworks and firecrackers to scare away the mythical beast Nianand and welcome a good fortune the year ahead.
But fireworks are illegal in most of the NYC state.
IDEA
If fireworks are meant to scare away bad luck and welcome good fortune, NYL offers New Yorkers another way to do the same. This Lunar New Year, lottery tickets become modern-day lucky charms, giving people a chance to start the year with fortune on their side.
Activation
Fireworks Scratch Off
Fireworks are one of the most remarkable things during the Lunar New Years. Instead of selling regular tickets we turn these scratch offs into the only thing that is able to express the same feeling of loud and bright as winning in the lottery, fireworks! We build custom firework stands filled with Lunar New Years decorations. The idea is to treat these scratch-offs as regular fireworks.

Returning home for Lunar New Year means bringing a gift for the family. Yet the rush of holiday travel often leaves people grabbing whatever's convenient instead of something that truly carries the spirit of the celebration.
IDEA
NYL transforms the last-minute gift into a meaningful one by turning every ticket into a wish for good fortune, prosperity, and possibility for the year ahead.
Activation
Fortune-To-Go
The airport is where many travelers end up buying generic last-minute gifts. So NYL places Lunar New Year gift kiosks throughout departure terminals, turning a routine airport purchase into a meaningful gesture of good fortune for the family waiting at home.

INSIGHT
The Lunar New Years is represented by three Gods. Fu (God of good fortune and family harmony), Lu (God of prosperity, rank, and career success) and Shou (God of longevity).
IDEA
Why not test your luck when it’s given by the luck Gods themselves.
Activation
God’s Luck Scratch-Off
Set up three statues around famous touristic spots in NYC. Each statue will be a God that represents luck. Each God will have shelves full with lottery scratch-offs and a stand right next to it so people can pay for it and wrap it in red envelopes to gift their loved ones.

Every Lunar New Year, people give gifts that are believed to bring luck (from red envelopes filled with cash to oranges, tea sets, and traditional sweets).
But most lucky gifts only represent good fortune.
IDEA
The NYL Lunar New Year Ticket is a lucky gift that could actually deliver it.
Activation
Layers Of Luck
Create packages shaped as the standard gifts given during Lunar New Years with the scratch off ticket inside.
Because if the ticket by itself is lucky, it's even more lucky with all of the Lunar lucky layers on it.
